About the role

MYTILINEOS, a leading industrial company with a strong international presence in four Business Units, Metallurgy, Sustainable Engineering Solutions, Power & Gas and International Renewables & Storage Development is currently seeking to hire a Junior Project Manager based in Spain ( we have offices in Caceres and Madrid), for the International Renewables & Storage Development Business Unit.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the site engineers, design & engineering team, senior project manager and the finance team, as well as externally with the subcontractors, equipment suppliers and clients/developers to ensure on schedule completion and compliance with the company’s quality standards
  • Successfully drives all aspects of project management of a project from inception to completion, ensuring that it is strictly delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Undertakes site surveys to establish local conditions which impact design, as well as researches local supply costs for inclusion in the project budget
  • Works with the design & engineering team to review all project documents and information provided by a client/developer and throughout the design process
  • Develops a detailed program of works (PoW)
  • Is responsible for the management of suppliers’ and subcontractors’ contracts
  • Is responsible for the management and supervision of the progress of the site teams & subcontractors against PoW and scope
  • Ensures appropriate availability and allocation of resources
  • Is responsible for reporting weekly and monthly on progress, budget
  • Identifies and prioritizes project risks/opportunities and manages program to mitigate any identified risks
  • Manages relationship with the client, suppliers and subcontractors, as well as internal teams
  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation
  • Is responsible to handover the project to the internal O&M team

Requirements

  • Bachelor´s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or other relevant field
  • 2+ years’ experience in the construction of energy related projects
  • Proven track record of project management in the construction of large utility-scale solar projects from the EPC side is considered a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Office
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is essential (both spoken and written)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High commercial and numerical acumen
  • Able to critically examine and question information from a variety of sources
