Job Summary: 

The System Manager, Pharmacy Systems and Informatics is a member of the UVMHN Pharmacy Leadership Team. The System Manager participates in the development and execution of the System department strategic and operational plan. The System Manager will provide leadership, direction, and operational planning to advance information technology uses within all aspects of the medication use process and department of pharmacy to enhance care of patients within UVMHN. The System Manager will provide oversight of the pharmacy systems and informatics team and serve as a resource regarding advancements and changes in all current and future pharmacy information systems and applications. The System Manager will work collaboratively with all the Directors of Pharmacy Services and will be a liaison with nursing and medical leadership for information technology requests and advancements.

Education:   

  • A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited college or university is required. Pharmacist licensure in Vermont or New York is required.

  • PGY-1 residency or equivalent experience 

  • PGY-2 residency in Pharmacy Informatics or Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership preferred

  • Pharmacy informatics experience and/or certification is preferred 

  • Board Certification preferred

Experience:   
Minimum of 5 years as a pharmacist with at least 3 years progressive leadership experience at the supervisor level and above with increasing responsibility for the management and supervision of pharmacy personnel with emphasis on pharmacy systems, information technology design and implementation, leadership and management of change, automation, project management, pharmacy compliance, pharmacy education programs, practice analytics, data storage and retrieval, applied clinical informatics, application rationalization and operational policies and procedures.
