The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a non-profit, social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values. The Center provides and initiates diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting. The JCC is a partner in serving the community, is affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte and United Way.

Qualifications / Attributes:

• Experience working with or taking care of young children.

Position Purpose:

• Create and maintain a safe and stimulating environment for young children (ages 7 weeks to 7 years).
• Work in a family-centered program and focus your duties on the needs of the LJCC Families.
• The JKid Club substitute will cover as-needed.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Engaging the children and modelling developmentally appropriate activities and positive behavior management techniques.
• Regularly cleaning toys and common area surfaces.
• Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
• Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a daily basis.
• Changing diapers as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the JKid Club Coordinator.

Working condition:

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional lifting of 25 pounds or more.

• Must enjoy being around children and creating a positive atmosphere for them.
• Energetic and positive attitude.
• Experience working with children and taking care of young children.
