About the role

We are seeking a Junior Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Hyattsville MD with an Underground Utility Infrastructure General Contractor.

College Grads are encouraged to apply, Assistant PM looking to move into this role!

Pay Range: $60-85(depending on experience)

Responsibilities for Junior Estimator:

Establish and exceed weekly and monthly targets for key performance areas including, but not limited to, new prospects, cold calls, phone calls, networking, customer touches, presentations, lead development, and new bids.
Be accountable in key measurements (as determined by Company goals) for prospecting, presentations, contracts or agreements, and the number of new bid opportunities. These measurements will include regular presentation of data for actual vs. planned.
Maintain and be responsible for a visible and accurate database of regular and consistent business development activities. This database will be maintained in Cosential (CRM) and will include Accounts and Contacts, Leads and Opportunities.
Complete pre-qualification and track forms as required by our new customers.
Grow our customer base in each division.
Prepare estimates within HCSS for review and approval by Chief Estimator before submitting.

Qualifications for Junior Estimator:

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or engineering with 3-5 years of experience in business development, is a plus but not required.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Have a passion for results, a strong work ethic, and a winning attitude.
Be a self-starter and can work independently.
Have solid presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Have a strong understanding of market forecasts for all markets served and/or opportunistic markets.
Ability to make sound decisions based on experience and personal judgment.
Have excellent communication and organization skills.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Bluebeam, HCSS knowledge is a plus.
