Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a transformative Senior Director of Linux Relational Database Services to lead our enterprise database operations team through a critical organizational evolution. The ideal candidate will drive a strategic shift from a traditional operational model to a product-focused, value-driven database services organization.

What Will You Do?

  • Lead the cultural and operational transformation to a product-based database services team.

  • Develop a product management approach to database services.

  • Create service catalogs and defined value propositions for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Implement product thinking to align database services with business outcomes.

  • Design self-service capabilities and standardized database service offerings.

  • Lead and strategically manage a team of 19 database professionals.

  • Drive organizational transformation to a product-centric database services model.

  • Oversee on-premise Oracle Exadata infrastructure and database management.

  • Manage database operations for MySQL and PostgreSQL environments.

  • Provide leadership for cloud-based database services in Amazon RDS.

  • Execute comprehensive cloud database migration strategies.

  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions for database environments.

  • Develop product-oriented team structure and performance metrics.

  • Create standardized service delivery frameworks.

  • Supervise database platforms including: Oracle Exadata On-premise MySQL On-premise PostgreSQL Amazon RDS platforms: Aurora PostgreSQL Aurora MySQL Standard MySQL Standard PostgreSQL

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Ten (10) plus years of enterprise database management experience.

  • Five (5) plus years of team leadership/management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in organizational transformation.

  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Amazon RDS architectures.

  • Strong disaster recovery and high availability design skills.

  • Experience with enterprise-scale database infrastructure.

  • Proven expertise in cloud database migration methodologies.

  • Advanced IAC skills using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Experience transitioning teams to product-based operating models.

  • Bachelors degree preferred in Technology or a similar field (or equivalent experience).

  • Manages cross-functional objectives and/or priorities supporting an assigned business area(s).

  • Technical Skills: Oracle database administration • MySQL performance tuning • PostgreSQL optimization • AWS RDS configuration • Cloud migration strategies • Database security implementations • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) • Database migration planning and execution • Cloud database replatforming techniques • Product management methodologies • Service design and delivery frameworks.
