Schedule: Full-time 36 hours per week, Various Shifts Days/Nights, (3) 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a, rotating weekends and holidays
Location: Lutheran General, Park Ridge, IL
Unit: Float/Clinical Resource Unit (CRU)
Major Responsibilities:
A. Works with the Patient Command Center and coordinates staffing for the facilitation of safe and efficient patient throughput and global distribution of staffing resources. 1. Oversees operational efficiency and utilization of labor resources of the assigned shift in collaboration with unit-based charge nurses to ensure HPPD and LCE targets are met 2. Participates in daily safety and capacity huddles 3. Makes staffing recommendations and assignments at identified levels of competency as determined by state law, hospital policy, and regulatory agencies for the provision of safe and high-quality patient care. 4. Solicits feedback on customer needs by performing ongoing assessments and rounding and shares findings offering suggestions for improvement. Customers include patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. 5. Works with teams to develop, implement and track results of quality improvement activities contributing to overall quality of care, KRA goals and regulatory requirements 6. Understands departmental productivity measures and uses monitoring, data reports, technology and assessment tools to assess the effectiveness of work hour and labor cost efficiency 7. Gathers, records, and responds to staffing needs according to fluctuations in staffing and census updating AdvocateWorks schedule as needed. 8. Provides correspondence with outside agencies for the management of agency resources as needed.
1) Addresses problems and conflicts, which arise between patients, families and health care providers
2) Responds to patient and family needs in times of stress or crisis
3) Ensures compliance to all regulatory/safety standards to provide optimal environment for the customer.
4) Responds to and resolve patient, customer, and associate complaints in a timely fashion.
5) Solicits feedback on customer needs by performing ongoing assessments/interviews of internal and external customers
6) Reviews customer satisfaction survey results; set targets for improvement and implement appropriate action plans
7) Holds associates accountable for customer service standards

Provides correspondence with outside agencies for the management of agency resources as needed. A. Maintains Ongoing Operations During the Absence of Administrative Personnel. 25% 1. Initiates and responds to hospital wide emergency situations following FEMA guidelines for Emergency Management, mobilizing appropriate resources and personnel in a timely manner participating as a member of the incident command team 2. Addresses problems and conflicts which arise between patients, families and healthcare providers and provides appropriate support and service recovery. 3. Facilitates the process of drug/alcohol testing for cause according to hospital policy 4. Communicates significant concerns to the appropriate personnel including the administrator on call and executive leadership 5. Evaluates patient conditions as requested and helps staff problem solve clinical issues serving as a coach for chain of command in the absence of the nursing unit leadership 6. Ensures compliance to all regulatory/safety standards, follows HIPPA guidelines, interacts with the media regarding newsworthy incidents that involve the hospital
