What will you do?
A day in the life of a Supply Planning Analyst at Timberland looks a little like this.
[The Supply Planning Analyst owns the Timberland supply planning process end to end for the category. You will be responsible for procuring supply to meet service and inventory objectives. You will work to ensure on time deliveries from vendors and to customers. Key partners will include Vendors, Sourcing, Logistics, Demand Planning, Distribution, Sales Planning, Merchandising and Customer Service.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Recommend and execute product purchases based upon demand inputs and other crucial supply planning criteria (current inventory levels, vendor capacity, minimums, and buy readiness). Issue purchase requisitions to Sourcing Teams.
Collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales Planning as needed to inform specific buying decisions.
Support the S&OP process. Highlight issues and opportunities to drive improved supply chain operational performance and achieve business objectives.
Develop strong collaborative internal and external relationships to drive a supply plan to support the financial forecast.
Manage SKU level plans and purchases to support forecasts, program needs and global opportunities.
Ensure on time and in full deliveries that support inventory targets.
Analyze and provide input regarding supply demand match. Partner with sales, merchandising and global production to implement strategies to anticipate/mitigate opportunities and risks.
Be the liaison between sales, customer service, logistics, demand planning, global production, sourcing hubs and merchandising to insure overall plan execution.
Participate in communications and meetings that add value to the demand and supply Plans.
Continually monitor demand needs and supply timing to identify issues and opportunities. Adjust supply timing as needed to improve service to customers and / or meet inventory objectives.
Perform system administrative duties for purchase orders maintenance.
Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
Execute cross channel inventory segment transfers in systems and coordinate process.
What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1 + years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
One year of supply planning or related experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Critical thinking and decision making.
Ability to adapt and evolve.
Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
Ability to also work independently and make independent decisions when necessary.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and follow through.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Products with a heavy emphasis on Excel.
Location requirement: This position is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the Timberland office.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Experience working in a multi-channel environment - both wholesale and direct to consumer is preferred.
