Tactical Communications Technician (VHF/FM)

Description

Concept Solutions is seeking a Tactical Communications Technician (VHF/FM). This position is part of a team of aviation professionals supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Command, Control, and Communications (C3) office which is responsible for ensuring emergency operations are maintained. If disruptions, such as national emergencies, natural disasters, or equipment malfunctions occur, the C3 office is chartered with restoring the communication services expeditiously. This is an Emergency Essential Position – May be Required to respond to outages on short or no notice basis; supporting disaster response requirements. This is a hybrid position requires 2-3 days per week at the FAA HQ in Washington, DC. Active Top Secret. 

Specific responsibilities of the Communications Systems Engineer include:

• Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the C3 VHF/FM Communications Systems
• Plans, Engineers, Coordinates, Installs, Operates, and Maintains the VHF/FM Communications Systems
• Responsive to customer requirements
• Plan, survey and implement VHF/FM radio networks for FAA emergency communications.
• Coordinate and lead field installation projects through FAA acceptance.
• Support local DC area networks and communications needs.
• Perform circuit cut-overs to new carrier.
• Represent FAA as TOR at new installation sites.
• Complete site prep, installation of VHF/FM radios and repeaters for C3 program.
• Troubleshoots returned equipment and evaluates, makes recommendations to management
• Deploys to locations to fix, repair, and or replace entire systems as needed
• Member of Communications Support Team (CST). Willing to travel to support emergency communications during natural disasters.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred 

Requirements

 Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance. US citizenship is required. 

• Relevant B.S. Degree 
• 8+ years of relevant experience  
• Must hold a Class B Commercial Driver’s License or be willing to get one.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred
• Amount of Travel Required for Position · 30%
