About The Role:

The Specialist, Boutique Retail Operations will ensure consistent and dedicated support is available to each Boutique on a daily basis that cover the scope of Retail Operations.  They will understand in detail the operational journey, multi store management and people development strategies.  Being a local contact for inventory, standard operating procedures, organization, and maintenance they will visit and support all East Coast boutiques on regular basis (at least 1 visit per quarter); training to CHANEL’s policies and procedures (SOP) and correlating the needs of the business to the needs of the back of house/front of house all the while supporting and encouraging the boutique teams.

Strategy:

  • Develop key initiatives to be implemented in the East Coast Region, and by all boutiques with the support of the Group Director, Retail Operations and Regional Director East Coast, and in partnership from key stakeholders to improve operational practices
  • Participate in the onboarding process of new team members and tailor onboarding training in boutique using tools developed by Retail Operations team
  • Educate and train back of house boutique teams on operations standards and inventory 
  • Train and communicate regularly on KPIs and opportunities to manage back of house processes and procedures
  • Develop boutique by boutique strategy to promote inventory control and reduce loss/focus boutique’s/Shrink
  • Create a sense of community in the East Coast Region for Retail Operations leaders

Leadership:

  • Build relationships cross divisionally with Retail Operations and Regional Directors, Education
  • Lead initiatives to improve employee experience from Operational standpoint
  • Create spirit of cross functional collaboration (within Retail boutique Team but also with other departments, e.g., Client Care, RSE, Visual Merchandising, Direct Procurement, Asset Protection, IT, Digital)
  • Be a leader and center of knowledge on all systems and process/policy/tech tools

Communication and Execution:

  • Consistently visit boutiques in the East Coast Region and conduct audits and trainings for all aspects of Retail Operations             
  • Communicate with each individual Director/Manager on consistent basis (Monthly/Bi-Weekly TBs)
  • Active participation and involvement on our Home Office Operations Calls with Assistant Boutique Managers
  • Execute boutique openings and relocations, track off site requests and assess needs of each boutique to help elevate and drive business as well as the internal client journey
  • Track and communicate all boutique maintenance needs and requests
  • Track any specific Asset Protection and Repair & Maintenance challenges and partner with Asset Protection, Repair & Maintenance to resolve
  • Partner with Group Director of Retail Operations to provide input on employee BOH needs directly impacting Employee Experience

Operational Efficiencies:

  • Ensure non-sellable merchandise is being managed, tracked, and adequately ordered to enforce cost savings/tracking P&L
  • Review Transfers on a as needed basis to help streamline and reduce number of requests by boutique
  • Support Home Office and Directors with the scheduling and coordination of inventory and cycle counts
  • Provide support and training to stores as it relates to proper inventory preparation
  • Assist boutique teams in reconciling stock discrepancies monthly
  • Champion adoption of all tech tools and systems (Clienteling, Remote Selling, BI Dashboards, POS, MMS)
  • Enforce After Sales & Service process and procedure

Tactical / Day to Day Management:

  • Management of P&L and cost savings opportunity for Ops related items for region rolling up to approved budget
  • Evaluate operations in the stores on a regular basis and make process improvement or simplification Support Central strategies, and train and implement when necessary
  • Train Retail team on the POS System and support stores on training of new system rollouts
