Job Description

  • Our brake control systems of the future are networked. Connected Development is a new cloud-based method to simplify the validation process and shorten iterations in the development of automotive components, functions, and systems. Connected development is an ongoing cycle consisting of collecting data from the vehicle fleet with an on-board connectivity unit and transferring it to the BOSCH IoT Cloud, data management and analysis, writing new optimized software on demand, and software updates via remote flashing.
  • They are part of a group that, as a cross-divisional competence center for connectivity-based services, embedded cyber security and over-the-air updates, is responsible for concept development as  well as technical implementation. 
  • As a software developer in the field of connectivity, you will develop functions that implement over-the-air data acquisition for our brake control systems. 
  • Together with the team, you will be responsible for the entire development process: from coordinating requirements with internal customers to implementation and testing to rollout.
  • Perform customer requirement analysis, function specification development, software design, system level and software level test case development, system and software unit testing / component testing.
  • Responsible for conducting software design reviews, implementation reviews and test result analysis for compliance to requirements.
  • Support coordination with the customer departments and platform team.
  • Setting of innovation bench, conducting simulation, performing vehicle test.
  • Interface with associates in the US, India and Germany and will handle in vehicle development and testing of functions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience with embedded control system integration and development.
  • 1+ years of experience within vehicle dynamics area (experience can include academic, co-op or internships)
  • 2+ years of experience using Matlab, Carsim, or Simulink for Software-in-Loop and Hardware-in-Loop environments (experience can include academic, co-op or internships)
  • 1+ years of experience with software development or release processes such as change management and configuration management within the automotive or aerospace industry (experience can include academic, co-op or internship. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience using requirements engineering tools e.g. Doors or programming languages such as: Python, C, C++, or embedded C for the development, design, implementation, and validation of software or control of embedded systems;
  • Experience with classical and modern control design techniques such as PID control for development and tuning of controllers in closed loop control systems;
  • Experience with fault diagnostics methodologies such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) or ETA (Event Tree Analysis) for performing failure analysis and identifying the relevant causes and effects.
