Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Wilmington Treatment Center, a leading provider of specialty healthcare services. In this essential role, you will provide comprehensive medical evaluations and treatments for patients under the supervision of the Medical Director, collaborating closely with the medical and clinical staff to ensure the highest standards of care. As a Physician Assistant at Wilmington Treatment Center, you will have the opportunity to see the transformation our patients go through as they begin their journey into recovery from the disease of addiction. You will provide education and support to our patients to assist them in this difficult time in their lives. Our APP’s partner closely with our clinical department to provide the best patient care possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for securing a medical history and physical from the patient and identifying normal/abnormal findings. 
• Perform Medical Assessment of clients/patients of the facility. Complete documentation in the medical record accurately and timely recording all care rendered.
• Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment and counsel patients.
• Work collaboratively with the physician in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising care plans essential to the delivery of health care services.

Responsibilities

Summary:

• Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education;
• Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance;
• Ensures physician medication orders are being followed. Refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician;
• Evaluates patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback;
• Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance;
• Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and procedure;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, from an accredited college or university
• Previous experience in behavioral health facility/clinic preferred
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment

Licenses/Certifications:

• Licensed to practice in the state in which the clinic operates.
• DEA license.
