Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for acting as a liaison between quality, manufacturing, and engineering to facilitate a smooth translation of requirements from product development engineering to manufacturing and quality control.

This position is full time, on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Painesville, Ohio.

Duties/Responsibilities

Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement the following:

- Product quality plans

- Process FMEAs (PFMEA) that correlate with DFMEAs

- Critical to Process (CTP) (pre-production and production) parameters and control plans

- Establish Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters

- Manufacturing and assembly process flows and control plans

- Material, tooling and test/measurement specifications

- Process and work instructions

- Packaging specifications

- Inspection criteria

- Assist with prototype builds

- Assist with design verification and validation activities

- Perform Sample and First Article Inspections

- Initiate improvement activities using Six Sigma Concepts and Statistical Process Control (SPC) Measurements

May directly supervise 1-2 technicians on a temporary, project basis.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field required

- IPC Class 3 knowledge and experience required

- ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and auditing experience required

- ISO 13485 and AS9100 knowledge and experience a plus

- Experience in The Cable and Connector Industry preferred; i.e., Aerospace, Military, and/or Medical Device experience a plus

- ASQ CQE preferred

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within engineering field.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and excellent time management skills.

- Self-motivated, innovative, creative, and resourceful- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, Technical Procedures and governmental regulations.
