Project Director

Role Purpose:

The role is responsible for managing all facets of a construction program, including development, coordination, and implementation of a program schedule to ensure programs are completed on time, within budget, and ensure or surpass expected quality. The Project Director must serve as a leader of the construction program, liaising between team members and clients, on all matters.

Role & Responsibilities

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:

  • Maintains highest standards of Corporate governance & ensures all activities are performed ethically and in compliance with Company standards, relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Supervisors and Managers must demonstrate effective safety leadership for all Company staff, employees and any persons visiting them whilst on Company or client premises
  • Responsible for ensuring work location safety regulations and protocols are understood by all staff, agency and sub-contract personnel

QUALITY:

  • Responsible for being familiar with Company Quality policies & procedures and to follow them at all times
  • Reinforces importance of service quality at all times when engaging with employees
  • Oversees all quality documentation and performs regular checks to validate compliance

OPERATIONS:

  • Develops and maintains project schedules with superintendents for use by customer and subcontractors  
  • Ensures delivery order execution is in accordance with contract requirements
  • Develops and reviews SOW through site visits, existing conditions, and client needs so project requirements and expectations are clearly defined
  • Negotiates with client  and  subcontractors  as  necessary
  • Coordinates  project  close  out,  obtaining  required documentation, assisting in pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings
  • Collaborates with Procurement to solicit proposals from at least three vendors and/or subcontractors
    to include documentation on equipment, material, and labor costs for items not covered in an industry standard manual or work to be performed by subcontractors
  • Evaluates proposals to confirm compliance with SOW
  • Coordinates subcontractor buyout, arrange and attend site visits, and track subcontractor proposals
  • Identifies opportunities within client requirements where Company can add additional value and expand scope of work      

FINANCIAL:

  • Creates and manages the project budget
  • Ensures changes in work orders or variations are collected and billed correctly and on time
  • Regularly investigates external market to ensure Company C&B elements are up to date and competitive including variable allowances

COMMUNICATION:

  • Communicates with all stakeholders as required; Region Executive, Region Function leaders, client & sub-contractors
