Essential Functions:
- Provides Epic onboarding education to a variety of team members. Develops curriculum and evaluates effectiveness regularly. Maintains awareness of policy or practice changes and determines impacts.
- Maintains strong laboratory workflows and technical knowledge of the latest Epic functionality. Develops proficiency testing for Epic implementations when applicable.
- Participates in projects that include new Epic implementations or new technology initiatives, determines the best method for education, and evaluates evolving needs.
- Supports ongoing education by coordinating meetings and disseminating new information regarding upgrades and changes. Provides timely and effective support.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, business, healthcare, or a related discipline, required.
Licensure Requirement:
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), preferred.
Certifications:
Epic beaker principal trainer certification, required.
Skills:
- Ability to perform some analyst-level tasks (build/testing) to better support the training environment.
- Ability to interpret training feedback and translate it into improved curriculum design, required.
- Dedicated focus to customer service is critical to the success of this position.
Experience:
- Five years of healthcare industry experience, required.
- Three years of experience supporting Epic applications, required.
- Experience in Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) and Anatomic Pathology (AP) training design, required.
- Experience working with super users and end-users to improve workflow adoption and efficiency, required.
- Previous EMR software experience, preferred.
