Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Mechanical Engineer. This role will allow for broad exposure to Raytheon’s technology, tools and resources. The Advanced EO and RF Mechanical Engineering organization is seeking support with electro-optical and radio-frequency technology development. In this role, the engineer will be required to frequently collaborate with engineers of various disciplines to ensure support of program and factory requirements. This role will include performing thermal and physics analyses and simulations.
The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials and experience in working in a teamwork environment, having not only academic, but also interpersonal skills to help optimize our teams. Additionally, the candidate should possess an inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn real-world applications to complement their academic experience.
What You Will Do
- Problem solving, testing, and/or troubleshooting hardware
- Recommendation of design modifications
- Perform thermal and physics analyses and simulations.
- Drawing creation and/or modification
- Analysis and evaluation of products to determine their efficiency and/or cost-effectiveness
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
- Experience with Creo modeling and drafting
- Experience with MATLAB
Qualifications We Prefer
- Major in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.
- 3.0 cumulative GPA minimum desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use COMSOL
- Understanding of GD&T
