SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Excellence leads the development and implementation of strategies to align clinical programs with organizational goals, focusing on quality, safety, and patient outcomes. This role involves overseeing continuous quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and analyzing clinical data to drive performance improvements and reduce hospitalizations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement clinical excellence strategies that align with organizational goals.
    • Provide strategic guidance on clinical innovations and improvements.
    • Collaborate with leadership to integrate clinical excellence initiatives into company-wide strategies.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Oversee continuous quality improvement projects focused on patient outcomes such as time on treatment, anemia management, and vascular access.
    • Drive performance improvement efforts to reduce hospitalizations and enhance patient safety.
    • Monitor and improve key clinical metrics reported to CMS, including QIP and Star Ratings.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Partner with clinical and operational leaders, facility administrators, and clinical staff to improve patient outcomes.
    • Collaborate with OMCO to develop and implement standardized clinical protocols and workflows.
    • Analyze clinical outcomes data to guide decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Provide executive summaries and performance reports to leadership at multiple levels.
    • Ensure clear communication of clinical excellence initiatives and outcomes across the organization.
  • Upholds management goals of corporation by leading staff in team concepts and promoting a team effort.
  • Maintains effective personnel management and employee relations, including evaluating the performance of all personnel; approving and submitting all hours worked and counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Recruits, trains, develops, and supervises personnel.
  • Effectively communicates expectations; accepts accountability and holds others accountable for performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.
Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare management, or a related field. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical operations or quality improvement within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Ability to lead and facilitate multidisciplinary teams

Interpersonal skills necessary to work with staff, senior management, insurance companies, government and private agencies. Multi-task in an efficient, professional and calm manner. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
