The F135 program is seeking an Associate Director to lead the F135 Lightning Support Center (On-Site) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio and the Fort Worth Operations Center in Texas. This position is co-located in the Joint Program Office (JPO), Fleet Readiness & Sustainment (FRS) facility with the JPO-FRS team and other industry components of the F-35 program.

The primary role of this position will be to set vision, inform strategy, determine priorities, and make decisions through a collaborative effort inside the JPO and among industry leaders ultimately providing the best overall product support to the warfighters. As the F135 lead/In-service Integrator (ISI) for LSC activities, success is highly dependent on close integration with the F135 sustainment team centered in East Hartford.

Other areas of responsibility include developing and maturing the Global Sustainment Solution (GSS) in line with the program support manager, FRS manager and propulsion program management office’s guidelines and inform the JPO leadership team (to include international partners) on key F135 hot topics through numerous forums.

This position oversees the daily activities of the propulsion delivery areas and value stream managers within the LSC, including two operations centers, fleet & maintenance management, supply chain management, and fleet trending and data management. Partnering with other areas of the program, you will translate, articulate and communicate the diverse warfighter needs to the F135 sustainment teams in East Hartford, Crystal City, and Fort Worth.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the communications pathway for propulsion related emerging events and updates (both technical and contractual) between FRS and Warfighter leadership F135 Sustainment and Program Office Leadership.
  • Collaborate and coordinate closely with all Pratt & Whitney teams (including but not limited to Sustainment, Field Services, Engineering, and Customer Support), JPO teams and the warfighter for fleet management planning, readiness, supply chain conflicts, and deployment planning.
  • Guide, mentor, and manage a large and disparate team of people, enabling and empowering them to execute processes to provide answers to the JPO and warfighter through Requests for Information (RFI), Action Requests (AR), and other complex requests that come through the program.
  • Understand the F-35 program standard operating procedures and business rules to facilitate aircraft on the ground (AOG), supply chain, and other support activities within the global fleet.
  • Occasional travel will be required to Fort Worth, TX; East Hartford, CT; and other locations as necessary.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Logistics Management or, in lieu, an associate’s degree with 12 years of specific relevant experience
  • A minimum of 10 years aircraft maintenance or logistics leadership experience required (military experience preferred). Must have F135 program experience and familiarity of the F135 engine and its capabilities
  • Must have and be able to maintain an active US government security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
