Production Supervisor 
 

 

We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our Pell City, AL facility. In this role you will manage all activities and interactions of operators within a manufacturing system. Ensure Oerlikon’s productivity and quality goals are met. Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

• Manage a team up to 18 and coach, mentor and develop employees while providing a solid leadership example to others.
• Manages departmental performance measures (OEE, etc.), accuracy of production/quality records, and provides to leadership team
• Performs investigations regarding non-conformances in safety, quality, and process variations; implements and makes recommendations for permanent corrective actions
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvements in area of responsibility
• Handle all disciplinary actions within areas of responsibility
• Conducts bi-annual employee performance appraisals.
• Administers all discipline and personnel corrective actions as required and conducts payroll for assigned team
• Primary liaison for interactions with all supporting departments (tooling, maintenance, quality, etc.)
• Ensures effective employee relations through communication and strong team work leadership
• Demonstrate strong and consistent support for workplace safety, especially with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and procedures. Set the example by supporting initiatives, actively engaging every operator in Oerlikon’s safety culture, and exceeding Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) objectives.
• Enforces plant and area housekeeping standards.
• Identify and implement operational process improvements.
• Coordinate with quality to improve the overall cost of non-quality.
• Help to develop long term and short-term center strategy.
• Work to optimize personnel resources across all shifts.

 

Your Profile:

• High School graduate
• Five (5) years manufacturing experience
• One (1) year production manager/supervisor experience preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills - bilingual is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
• Prefer practical application of lean manufacturing methodologies
• Proficiency working with MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required.
• Effective verbal /writing skills and strong presentation skills
• Must be able to lift, stack, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Experience working through manufacturing/ Production environment to working the production cycles to deliver products on time
• Individual must have strong work ethic, be high-energy, and detail oriented
• Ability to work safely with a variety of chemicals and gases.
