Allegion is undergoing a digital transformation, including Engineering. The Global Engineering Solutions team is leading an effort to digitally transform the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) process to provide seamless access to design data to the right people at the right time. Digital transformation is achieved through the creation and global deployment of standardized processes and optimized tools, utilizing automation where possible to drive overall efficiency.  

As a Product Data Intern on the Global Engineering Solutions team, you will contribute meaningful work and make a direct impact to the Global Engineering Competency. You will gain valuable experience in defining and scoping requirements for process workflows, testing engineering tool enhancements and upgrades, developing training materials, and proactively improving product data integrity for existing products.  

Additional opportunities include cross-functional collaboration outside of Engineering, learning about material compliance and sustainability in the door hardware industry, and honing your communication skills through customer service and training opportunities.

What You Will Do:  

• Work with an international team to produce and implement well-rounded CAD and/or PLM solutions 
• Drive continuous improvement on Allegion’s globally used Enterprise processes 
• Develop, release, and maintain process related documentation and training materials 
• Learn about, evaluate, and share best practices on product data software tools and capabilities 
• Update CAD and/or PLM product data to comply with internal best practices and standards 
• Deepen your understanding in CAD modeling and product data management best practices 
• Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities within Allegion 

What You Need to Succeed:  

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, architectural, construction, or a related field
• Completed junior year or above by the start of the internship
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.
• Passion for creating relationships
• Competitive spirit and desire to be a part of a winning team
• High internal motivation, creativity, and forward-thinking ability
• Excellent communication skills; in particular must be comfortable creating and delivering recommendations and information to a group
• Strong organizational skills and technologically savvy
• Ability to stay organized and detail oriented
• Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale
