We have a challenging and exciting position for a Test Equipment Quality Manager at our Tucson, AZ facility. This is an onsite role.
The effective candidate will provide in-depth knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements to support Test Equipment Development efforts for various Programs. Test Equipment Quality Engineering (TEQE) ensures program execution in accordance with RTX’s QMS, which is based on AS9100/ISO 9001. Additionally, TEQE supports Raytheon’s Quality Policy with an emphasis on Quality Excellence, Customer Satisfaction and Continual Improvement. As a manager, they will work closely with Program Managers, Site Leaders, DoD, External/Internal customers, and industrial partners. They will lead, develop, and grow a team of Hardware and Software Quality professionals that support various Test Equipment efforts at the Tucson facility.
This effective candidate will work closely with the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) in providing expertise, guidance and management of issues encountered during design, development, build, integration and product realization of Depot and Factory Test Equipment. This includes ensuring: the proper execution of root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action, continuous improvement, compliance with RTX policies and procedures, deployment and alignment of the quality engineering processes. They will be responsible for overseeing the Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) of newly developed test equipment as well as implementing updates to existing test equipment in meeting all its intended requirements for test of products manufactured by RTX.
Quality Test Equipment Engineering scope includes participation in Peer Reviews and formal inspections of work products as defined in Program Planning Documentation. Quality is a required member of the release and Change Control Boards (CCB). Typical examples of the documentation and program activities that Quality Engineering supports include review of plans and procedures, design reviews, test plans and reports, software inspections, software code reviews, test and sale readiness reviews, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, customer interface and gate reviews.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of Quality Engineers interfacing between their responsibilities and work scope, engaging in performance discussion and evaluations, and ensuring all staffing demands are adequately met.
- Develop partnerships with senior site leaders, program product managers, and engineering functions to define steps necessary to implement Quality strategies, drive down defects in-phase, and solve issues impacting the development and deployment of Test Equipment
- Assess engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Code Reviews, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects.
- Review contract deliverables and coordinate with program personnel and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for DD250 sell-off / customer acceptance.
- Assure product quality and effectiveness throughout all life-cycle phases.
- Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance, resolution and closure of open issues, and ensures quality and configuration of program assets.
- Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements verification.
- Review risk and opportunity data to lead projects to eliminate or reduce risks and/or realize opportunities.
- Lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls along with continuous improvement methods
Qualification You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience.
- Minimum ten years Software Engineering, Test Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering experience in the aerospace and/or defense industry, or other highly regulated environment.
