The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) supports urological services through both clinical and administrative duties that help ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient care.

Pay
$20.40 – $24.00 per hour

Specialized Hands-On Clinical Experience
This is more than a routine MA role—you will gain valuable specialty experience in urology care, including:
- In-office surgical support
- Advanced diagnostics

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Record vitals, medical history, and chief complaints
- Assist providers during exams and treatments
- Perform specimen collection and basic clinical testing
- Administer medications as directed
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and support room turnover
- Assist with scheduling and patient follow-up
- Support daily office workflow
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
What You Bring
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA required)
- BLS certification required
- 6+ months of physician office experience preferred (Urology experience a plus)
- Strong EMR and computer skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant Certified supports the delivery of urological services, performs work as required and functions as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team. The Medical Assistant Certified is tasked to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical offices running smoothly. This position collaborates/works with staff within their practice or other professional disciplines within the affiliated medical groups as needed to achieve effective and efficient patient care delivery and the desired patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Medical Assistant Certified will perform various administrative and clinical duties under the direction of their assigned direct supervisor.
- The Medical Assistant Certified will consistently confer with physicians, nursing, and other staff members to coordinate and schedule appointments of patients.
- Greets and prepares patients.
- Measures and records vital signs.
- Records patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
- Provides patient education with regards to medications, management of diseases, home treatments and special diets.
- Prepares patients for examinations and performs routing screening tests.
- Assists physicians with exams.
- Performs phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens. Performs basic lab tests.
- Performs EKG’s.
- Assists with X-ray and physician therapy procedures.
- Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization.
- Changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and performs other first aid procedures.
- Uses CPR skills when necessary.
- Prepares accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- Opens office in the morning and closes in the afternoon.
- Assists in maintaining patient logs for the following: Lab requests, CT scans and other treatment orders for the patients.

- Ensures the back office has good flow, keeps rooms full and assists with room turnover.
