Peraton is recruiting for a Senior Test Engineer - providing expertise to an enterprise test team implementing more automated testing on both front & back end.
Must be US Citizen, This position requires an active/current DoD Secret clearance. This is a remote position.
What you will do:
The Senior Automated Test Engineer collaborates with a team of testers and developers to ensure quality and security are built into solutions and release deployments to production are error free. They are responsible for conducting functional, regression, and system integration testing strategies. They are responsible for documenting testing results and issues identified during the process, and work with team members to resolve issues, as well as troubleshoots test failures.
As an Automation Test Engineer specializing in web applications, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks. Analyzes and provides support to creating automated testing of the PVQ applications all four form combinations and works with the infrastructure team to get the testing incorporated into the CI/CD pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test scripts for web applications using industry-standard testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Execute and maintain automated test suites, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify, document, and prioritize test cases based on risk and business impact.
- Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Stay updated on testing best practices, industry trends, and emerging tools.
- Working on multiple projects simultaneously, develop test system modifications or new development to prepare for implementation.
- Leading the creation test automation frameworks; perform testing of developer’s applications; and installing, configuring, and administering applications that automate testing.
- Develop automated testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, security, and usability.
- Lead automation, integration and test efforts ensuring defects are mitigated.
- Coordinate testing of software defects, enhancements, and upgrades with users and other application teams.
- Lead the development and execution of automation test scripts using testing tools such as Selenium. Configure Testing Framework to execute Selenium scripts
- Support test events including system, integration, independent verification & validation, and user acceptance tests.
- Attend Project Agile Sprint daily stand-up meetings, customer meetings, and other team meetings
- Work in a Scrum team – participate in all Scrum ceremonies (daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective, Program Increment Planning ceremonies, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with the infrastructure team and the development team in creating automated test scenarios
- Ensure compliance with Section 508
- Lead the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools
- Work with developers to resolve problems with software and provide analysis to enhance the applications and architecture
- Coordinate with team leads to provide testing consistency across the portfolio
- Provide analysis and direction regarding CI/CD improvements and automated testing best practices
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Maintain and upkeep the implemented test automation suite on a release basis
- Manage source code repositories, JIRA, and Confluence
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- BS with 8+ years of experience ,or MS with 6 years of experience
- Active/current DoD Secret clearance
- Requires Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer with a focus on web applications.
- Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
- Solid understanding of web technologies and architecture.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies and Kanban Framework
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices
- Prior working experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testin
