The Distinguished Engineer is a senior Individual Contributor position responsible for accomplishing results through hands on engineering activities including the design and build of shared platform services. This role will be a very senior hands-on role who would also be responsible to mentoring the broader teams. The overall objective of this role is to help increase the technical proficiencies across the teams by leading by example and helping people with mentoring and guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide analyses for a variety of broad and complex issues.

• Ensure all technology standards are developed, understood, and adhered to operationally.

• Hands on implementation of some of the most complex solutions.

• Guide and mentor multiple teams from various technology disciplines.

• Provides an environment where Subject Matter Experts can prosper and deliver effectively.

• Negotiate with senior leaders across functions, and with external parties, as required

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering role with extensive experience in hands on implementation.

• Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills

• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.

• Hands on understanding in building scalable systems

• Hands on understanding of building cloud native systems.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

• Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
