  • Attend meetings with investment bank economists and strategists to develop and examine investment ideas
  • Support the Rates and ALM team by automating reoccurring and ad hoc processes and reports using excel, python, Bloomberg, or other systems

This position offers a very high level of exposure to internal (Treasury, Risk Management and other areas of Asset Management) and external counterparties (sales, trading and research departments of major investment banks) as well as direct exposure to senior management due to the flat structure of the team.

About the Team

The team consists of portfolio managers trading in government bonds, agency mortgages, inflation linked securities, and associated derivatives for Swiss Re across a global portfolio.  This position would focus primarily on North American fixed income markets, reporting to the Co-Head of Global Rates and ALM.

About You

You are a self-motivated individual with a passion for financial markets and an interest to analyze and understand the many drivers of global interest rates.  You bring an analytical mindset and an attention to detail as you help the team manage the ALM rates positions across the portfolio.  You work well under pressure, with an interest to negotiate and execute trades in fast moving interest rate market.  You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can discuss and debate investment ideas in a collaborative team environment.
