Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Quality and Safety Operating Systems, the Sr. Director, Care Operating Systems (CareOS) Implementation, will oversee the successful delivery of projects within our new Care Operating System business line. In partnership with the VP, this role will build and expand this new line of business, driving data-driven workflows that significantly enhance patient outcomes, improve health care quality and safety, and redefine the patient and workforce experience. The Sr. Director will utilize improvement methodologies and technology platforms to optimize workflows across hospitals and health systems, leading to measurable improvements in healthcare quality and safety outcomes.
This is a full-time remote position based in the USA, with a requirement to manage projects across multiple time zones. The role involves domestic and international travel (up to 75%), which may decrease as the CareOS business line evolves.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
20% Stakeholder and Relationship Management
- Develop and nurture high-level relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leaders, strategic partners, clients, and faculty. Represent IHI in key discussions to align stakeholder interests with organizational priorities.
- Serve as a senior liaison between project teams, IHI leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, clarity, and impact. Provide strategic guidance on stakeholder engagement and communication approaches.
- Oversee and strategically guide the coordination of high-priority initiatives across the organization, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with long-term goals. Provide oversight on key stakeholder engagements.
40% Project Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of complex, high-impact project initiatives that align with organizational strategy. Ensure project teams operate with a strategic focus on long-term goals and scalability.
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance for the execution of critical project workstreams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Establish robust monitoring systems and drive continuous improvements to enhance project outcomes and scalability.
- Oversee project budgets at a strategic level, ensuring financial efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with business objectives. Make data-driven recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
- Anticipate and address risks at an organizational level, integrating advanced mitigation strategies. Provide guidance in resolving high-stakes challenges while driving decision-making that balances operational resilience with stakeholder priorities.
25% Content and Business Development
- Identify and drive opportunities for new initiatives, programs, and partnerships that align with IHI's mission and areas of expertise. Collaborate with leadership to shape content strategy and innovation efforts.
- Serve as a key advocate for IHI's work by contributing to publications, presenting at major industry events, and fostering relationships with influential stakeholders.
- Identify, develop, and nurture opportunities for strategic partnerships, programs, and collaborations that align with organizational growth objectives. Drive initiatives that enhance IHI's industry presence and influence.
