Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

Definitive Logic is currently seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to assist our team in helping our clients drive business value.   What you’ll get to do: 
- Be a leader in our high performing team that designs, develops, implements, and maintains applications using the latest tools, technologies, and techniques. - Help our customers enhance their analytic capabilities and the way they integrate, manage, and use their data by creating modern applications. - Operate as a trusted advisor that helps the Technology and Data Solutions (TDS) Practice and its customers achieve their goals.  
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Define informational needs and data elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, data output and reporting capabilities - Design, develop, and implement database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs. - Test and recommend software products  - Perform system level database and software maintenance - Administer, maintain, develop and implement the integrity, security and availability of multiple databases - Consult with program/project management and customers regarding product feasibility and viability of product plans and designs - Assist in defining data architecture requirements and establishing standards for database design and development - Participate in large system and subsystem planning and all aspects of database development including design, development, documentation, testing, implementation, and deployment - Factor emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation - Serve as the primary technical resource on data solutions for the development team - Provide sustainment and maintenance support for existing database applications - Use database development technologies and tools to build, test, and maintain product modules, components, and subsystems - Develop new features in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements - Ensure high standards of code quality and thoughtful database design - Work with agile development methodologies adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities - Collaborate with team members via MS Teams, Zoom, Git/Azure DevOps comments, documents, and frequent video conferences - Possess a positive, can-do attitude and enjoys making a difference through technical contributions - Stimulate new ideas and offer out-of-the-box thinking - Act as a technical lead as necessary for lower-level employees - Interact with customers, vendors, and external development partners as necessary - Perform other tasks as assigned 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS Degree preferably but relevant experienced considered 
• Minimum of ten years hands-on database development, data engineering, and data ops experience 
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server relational database technologies 
• Strong familiarity with Agile Software Development 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills 
• DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with the Air Force Military Personnel Systems (AFMilPerS) application 
• Experience with projects that include cloud solutions implemented in Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud 
• Experience with projects that include cloud solutions implemented in AWS Air Force Cloud One 
• Experience in application modernization and/or application migration to the cloud
