We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in healthcare interoperability standards to lead the design of secure, scalable, and compliant healthcare data solutions.

This position is critical to ensuring that our platforms integrate with other healthcare systems using standards such as FHIR, supporting national interoperability initiatives and reducing the administrative burden on providers and patients.

If you have a passion for both technical innovation and improving healthcare through seamless data exchange, we want to hear from you.

  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, healthcare partners, and engineering teams to define integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Ensure solutions adhere to HIPAA, HITECH, and other security and compliance frameworks
  • Maintain a strong focus on performance optimization, error handling, auditability, and operational transparency of interoperability workflows
  • Ensure documentation of designs and workflows is kept current
  • Solving complex healthcare data exchange challenges with a sense of urgency

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12+ years of professional software development and architecture experience in a Microsoft stack, including building new applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core
  • Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards and frameworks, including but not limited to FHIR
  • Experience architecting and implementing healthcare data exchange solutions in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Hands-on experience designing interoperability workflows using ETL pipelines and integration engines (e.g., Apache NIFI)
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS services related to data integration and interoperability, including:
    • AWS Glue for ETL pipelines
    • AWS Lambda for serverless event-driven workflows
    • Amazon S3 for secure healthcare data storage
    • Amazon RDS for relational database management
    • Amazon API Gateway for secure API integration
    • Amazon Event Bridge or SNS/SQS for event-driven architectures
  • Define and design technology solutions to meet both business and interoperability objectives
  • Ability to structure solutions and technical content for presentations to customers and partners
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or 12 years of relevant experience

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Apache NIFI 1.27 or later experience
  • Designing and developing a microservices architecture
