The Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR) is the recognized leader of global operations and supply chain on new product introduction (NPI) project core teams as well as released product management (RPM) . The CTOR provides leadership to an extended project team comprised of individuals from Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Category Management, Sourcing, Contract Manufacturers / OEM, Supplier Quality, and other functions to drive successful development and commercialization of new products.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall operations aspects including value stream selection, planning, execution, and successful implementation of activities in the development and introduction of new products and released product management updates. You will ensure that the voice of operations is properly captured, and all team commitments and project contract metrics are met and communicated in a timely manner.
A current project need is to partner with an existing team to implement the next generation technology at a key supplier and ensure its seamless integration into the Medtronic line. There will be the need for multiple supplier visits as this project continues. There will be a need for strong supplier relationship skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Strongly advocate for, and represent Operations to a cross functional team related to project and business needs
- Accountability and leadership for overall project execution. Including: project planning, budgeting, schedule creation, risk management, issue resolution, execution, and release strategy.
- Lead through influence in a matrixed, cross-cultural organization
- Lead all manufacturing and supply chain schedule risk burn down
- Define and meet operations objectives: Labor, Burden, Material, Cycle Time, Capacity, Yield, Process Ppk, etc.
- Drive operations program schedules, scope, materials, resources, expenditures, and funding
- Ensure the quality policy/system is planned, understood, implemented, and maintained
- Ensure operations aspects of Quality System Compliance, Design History File, and Regulatory submissions are properly documented
- Coordinate development builds across value streams
- Lead decision making for facility locations, make-buy decisions, business continuity
- Ensure structured problem methods and predictive engineering principles are consistently and rigorously applied, such as DRM, Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar concepts.
- Provide tactical and / or operational leadership and coaching to operations team and extended operations team
- Provide indirect people management and development
Must Have: Minimum Requirements (To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume):
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
Nice to Have:
- Program or project management experience leading a complex new product or new process development including launch operations costing (LBM, OPC, Inventory deferrals, capital project management, etc.) and financial accountability
- PMP Certification
- DRM Green Belt
- Experience in new product OR new process development including launch operations
- Experience working in medical device or other regulated industry
- Experience or extensive knowledge of at least 2 related disciplines (with knowledge of all) such as:
- Product development
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Supply chain planning/capacity planning for launch
