Since 2008, Healthy Community Health Centers (HCHC) has proudly served the City of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and surrounding areas as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We provide comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered care to approximately 15,000 individuals annually. Our services include:
- Adult and pediatric primary care
- Acute and chronic disease management
- Preventive and wellness care
- Women’s health, including prenatal and postnatal services
- HIV/AIDS support
- Behavioral health services
- Community resource coordination and translation services
- Outreach and enrollment assistance
- Pharmacy collaboration and medication cost support
- Transportation assistance
Requirements
Healthy Community Health Centers is seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to lead and support our provider team. This physician leader will play a pivotal role in shaping clinical strategies, fostering team excellence, and delivering high-quality care to our community.
This role includes both administrative and clinical responsibilities:
- Full-Time: 20 hours/week clinical care + 20 hours/week administrative leadership
- Part-Time: 20 hours/week, administrative leadership only
This is an ideal opportunity for a board-certified physician in family medicine who is eager to lead a mission-driven team and champion healthcare access in a vibrant and diverse community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to HCHC’s medical provider team
- Oversee clinical quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership on clinical workflows, compliance, and best practices
- Deliver patient care consistent with evidence-based medicine (for full-time position)
- Represent HCHC in medical and community leadership forums
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Family Medicine
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia (or eligibility)
- DEA licensure
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Must meet all physical and cognitive demands of the role
- Not sanctioned under Medicare or Medicaid
