About the role

Chubb is looking to hire an experienced Executive Vice President of Global Technology Portfolio, Governance & Control.  This senior level role is responsible for providing leadership and ensuring the implementation and management of suitable processes across Chubb’s Global Technology project portfolio, technology risk and compliance controls, technology governance including Board level communications, short- and long-term financial management, resource management and software license oversight.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Global Technology’s short- and long-term strategic portfolio of assets, programs and projects reflective of Global CTO direction and priorities
  • Develop deeply strategic internal and external relationships that foster a culture of cooperation and accomplishment through relevant stakeholders, engaging collaborative and mutually supportive relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders
  • Define the PMO strategy and lead the design and implementation of a common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects that advance to overall Global IT roadmap
  • Lead the execution of global technology governance through a direct and matrixed team, reporting and review framework to provide a business centric and financially sized view of all organizational project activity
  • Develop, implement and manage using a lean Agile methodology and identifying new and innovative project management approaches and tools and embed these in the behaviors and day to day activities of the organization’s operations
  • Own and manage a set of processes to refine the Global Technology policy framework and create an appropriate set of controls to manage a well-defined organizational Risk profile 
  • Create effective and efficient governance processes for the management of technology, up to and including Executive committee level
  • Work with finance partners to create and track to an effective short- and long-term financial plan for technology 
  • Work with HR partners to create and manage an effective short- and long-term resource/location strategies and plans
  • Create processes with procurement partners to ensure effective procurement and management of Chubb’s software license portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • High detail orientation with the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills; able to prioritize and manage many simultaneous tasks and priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with cross-functional and remote teams, at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence people and resources to ensure timely completion of tasks that meet quality standards
  • Willingness to adhere to established processes while keeping an eye for opportunities to improve or develop processes, structures, and systems
  • Experience managing and motivating others
  • PMP designation strongly preferred
  • Experience with managing technology projects and initiatives required
  • Can relate well to executives, technologists and business users
  • Experience partnering and negotiating with technology vendors across a portfolio of products and services
