We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team performing skilled work in the construction, remodeling, and maintenance of County parks and facilities.In this role, you’ll complete corrective repairs and support the daily upkeep of our public spaces, including restroom maintenance, litter removal, grounds policing, pressure cleaning, boardwalk inspections, and a variety of other tasks that keep our parks safe, clean, and welcoming for the community.

About the Position
In this role, you will...
Responding to work orders for repairs in county parks, involving carpentry, painting, concrete work, irrigation
Assisting other staff in routine or corrective maintenance projects. Perform scheduled playground inspections
Responsible for managing materials, multiple work orders, purchasing cards, and maintaining county equipment
Evaluate and communicate potential issues; locates, calendar conflicts, permitting, other related issues
Paperwork creation and completion; work orders, inspection reports, invoices, and p-card receipts
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Work schedule may require occasional evenings and/or weekends, depending upon special events
- As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or its equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in job related field
Valid Florida Driver’s License at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to obtain Recreation Parks Association (NRPA) playground Certification
Physical Demands:
- May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Starting Pay Range: $20.10/hr (Step 1)
Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience
