The Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) department is seeking a Mechanical Production Support Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will support the development, assembly, and verification of mechanisms and control actuation systems. You will address mechanical, electrical, and systems-related challenges across various missile components, leveraging your education and experience to apply a systems-focused approach to problem-solving. With the program in active production, this position requires flexibility and innovative problem-solving to maintain quality standards. The role also offers opportunities to collaborate with and travel to an international partner. Responsibilities will expand as your skills and expertise grow.
What You Will Do
Provide mechanical engineering support for Control Actuation Systems (CAS) and related mechanisms. Responsibilities may include detailed mechanical design and analysis, supplier management, change processing, and systems engineering, depending on program needs.
Travel internationally as needed for face-to-face meetings to collaborate with key partners and suppliers
Adapt responsibilities based on organizational priorities and your skill set.
Work autonomously with regular and periodic supervision, have theoretical to advanced knowledge of the control mechanism development domain, and influence others through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Travel approximately 10% time internationally
What You Will Learn
Gain hands-on experience working with hardware in dedicated lab spaces located at our Huntsville and Tucson facilities.
Participate in a variety of lab activities, including engineering builds, hardware integration, tuning, and verification.

Deepen your understanding of key system components, including the Nose Cone, Third Stage Rocket Motor, Steering Control Section, and Control Surface Assembly, while managing change, obsolescence, and review board issues.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or related science degree
A minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or an advance degree.
Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience developing flight control systems for aerospace applications
Experience collaborating with major subtier suppliers
Knowledge of design and verification test of systems for common or composable products
Flexibility to travel to supplier sites for TIMs
Create Daily Action Plans and track actions using a RAIL
Perform performance testing on actuators and interpret results
Familiarity with concepts of gear d
