The Executive Director Medical Affairs Europe, Hematology, is an internal key expert within the indication areas, directly supporting the respective products through development, pre-marketing, launch, marketing and lifecycle management. This includes all areas of medical affairs activities such as evidence generation, evidence communication and medical education, access support, insights generation and external stakeholder engagement.
The role is part of a matrix organization reporting to the Vice President Medical Affairs Europe but closely collaborating with the Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Hematology, other global and regional Medical Affairs functions (Scientific Communication, Medical Operations, HEOR, …).
The Executive Medical Director Medical Affairs Europe, Hematology, has accountability for the regional input into the global product and indication strategies and works closely with local country medical directors and country medical leads to assure alignment across global, regional and local strategies, messaging as well as tactical implementation.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role with respect to the assigned assets and disease area include, but is not limited to:
Direct line management of (Sr) Director Medical Affairs Europe, Hematology
Matrix leadership in the disease area
Evidence Generation:
Gap analysis, IIT evaluation and oversight, RWE coordination, collaboration with HEOR
Influencing the global Integrated Evidence Generation Plan
Proactive contribution to global brand/ pipeline asset and disease area strategies
Provide input on regional perspectives on the design of for company-sponsored trials
Influence publication planning
EU HTA process
Data Communication
Regional data- communication (e.g. company sponsored symposia, congress submissions, medical education activities)
External Engagement
Regional HCP interactions / outreach (e.g. investigator meetings, advisory boards)
As a leader in the organization, the incumbent will be accountable to develop regional strategies to support enduring and compliant relationships with Opinion Leaders, Research Collaborators, and Key Organizations in support of BeOne’s pipeline development across the allocated disease area.
Internal representation and collaboration
Close collaboration with regional commercial teams regarding pre-launch, launch and commercialization, assuring timely medical input and accuracy of medical / scientific content.
Regional Representation in Global Teams, e.g. GPT extended, GMAT
Decision Making
EU Medical Affairs Budget at Signature Level
Approves Medical Scientific Communication Content (Symposia, Slides, AdBoards)
The Executive Director Medical Affairs Europe, Hematology plays a key role in the establishment of BeOne as a valued collaborator and best-in class biopharmaceutical company.
Essential Functions of the job:
Establish and maintain scientifically credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key national & regional opinion leaders in addition to other healthcare providers
Viewed as a Scientific Partner by KOLs
Facilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts and serve as an regional level point of contact with organizations including but not limited to:
Guideline development
Cooperative groups
Other (Regional / National Cancer institutions)
Facilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with other functional areas within BeOne
Leadership in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant, and investigator meetings), as requested
Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives.
Support disease area Medical Affairs budget planning and management.
Be accountable for compliant business practices.
Support European Market Access initiatives (e.g. EU JCA/ HTA)
