We are currently looking for a Property / Natural Resources / Construction Claims Manager to manage and supervise a team of Property Claims Adjusters.  This role can be based in our O’Fallon, MO, Chicago, IL or New York, NY offices.

 

The Impact You Will Have 

The Property / Natural Resources / Construction Claims Manager will lead and manage a Property team that handles Property (primary), Energy & Construction and Allianz Risk Transfer claims.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Lead and manage a claims team focusing on Property (primary), E&C and ART and manage cost center budget within plan.
• Train, facilitate, and mentor current staff and manage technical referrals as appropriate.
• Investigate claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures.
• Determine appropriate reserving levels and select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Appraisers)
• Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AzC Claims administration systems.
• Proactively review coverage and support necessary process with Underwriting / Accounts; and manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends                                                                       
• Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
• Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives                                                                                                                             

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• 5 - 7 years’ experience in specialized understanding of Line of Business (LoB) products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge.     
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in specialized understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape                                       
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market                             
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in understanding of legal and regulatory framework                                    
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in working in global complex, matrix organization leading a team of professionals                                  
• Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline                                        
• Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. AIC, CPCU)                                          

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $102,375 to $224,550. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
