Responsibilities

• Partnering with product management to define technical requirements and translate the roadmap into actionable backend features and deliverables.

• Designing and implementing highly available, low-latency backend services and APIs supporting real-time collaboration.

• Architecting and building distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservice patterns.

• Developing and optimizing RESTful APIs and data pipelines for scalability, observability, and maintainability.

• Leading the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure and deployment strategies using AWS services(e.g., EC2, ECS, S3, ElasticCache, Lambda).

• Implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and ensure platform reliability.

• Collaborating with DevOps and SRE teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, improve automation, and support continuous delivery.

• Mentoring and guide junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

What we’re looking for

• Have Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent).

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale backend systems or microservices.

• Show deep proficiency in Java, including concurrency, performance tuning, and multi-threaded programming.

• Demonstrate strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud frameworks.

• Demonstrate expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.

• Have experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.

• Have familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ), and asynchronous processing.

• Demonstrate proficiency with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and Git.

• Have experience with automated testing, observability, and emerging AI-powered developer tools for productivity, debugging, or prototyping.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$98.900,00

Maximum:

$228.700,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
