About the Role

The primary purpose of the Food Service Worker position (Retail Services) is to assist in station setup, serving food to staff, students, and visitors in retail services in a professional efficient manner; and to maintain an organized and clean serving/dining environment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

• Sets up designated food stations, prepares customer orders and services customers in an efficient manner within Retail Services.
• Conducts various cleaning and sanitation functions.
• Provides superior customer service in compliance with University Hospital’s Mission Statement and Five Star Service Program.
• Participates in catering events and other retail venues as needed.
• Handles food in compliance to Federal, State and Local Health Codes; and The Joint Commission.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position is required.

Effective verbal and written communications. Customer service and hospitality- oriented. Attention to detail with appropriate follow through.

Ability to work effectively as a team member in a flexible manner.

Ability to establish effective relationships within a multi-cultural environment.

 

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $ 16.49 – $ 17.50 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
