Publicis Sapient | Public Sector is looking for a Sr. Manager, Web Accessibility to join our team that focuses on US Federal and State and Local government clients. Reporting to Accessibility CoE and Public Sector Leads, you will guide cross-capability teams in the ongoing creation and maintenance of accessible digital experiences for Publicis Sapient Public Sector clients.

Job Description

  • Support and guide key Public Sector accounts in designing, developing, implementing, and monitoring accessible digital experiences that meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines / Section 508. This includes hands-on accessibility support and oversight across digital channels including the web, native apps, documents, etc.
  • Recognized as an accessibility technical subject matter expert for user interface experiences, this role involves leading accessibility evaluations of digital experiences, monitoring industry trends, and identifying best practices.
  • With the support of the Public Sector Leads, provide direction on enabling key accounts to establish accessible experiences:
  • Identify account-specific training needs.
  • Collaborate with accounts to shape their future accessibility ownership.
  • Analyze and identify gaps in the current working processes.
  • Establish goals for improvement and set realistic timelines.
  • Regularly report on accessibility maturity status and the status of the pilot project to the Industry Lead and Accessibility Center of Excellence (ACoE).
  • Act as the client liaison for sharing accessibility knowledge and ensure that team members are directed towards PS Accessibility Support Pillars.
  • Participate in design reviews, draft accessibility requirements for new features, and assist teams in creating accessible digital content. This includes ensuring teams are following set processes and guiding them towards existing job aids, checklists, and training sessions.
  • Mentor, coach, and collaborate with designers, engineers, and other accessibility, design, and usability specialists on advanced digital accessibility principles.
  • Drive utilization of tools, job aids, and processes to aid team members in their accessibility work and to work more efficiently.
  • Explore the capabilities of digital platforms to drive accessibility forward and document best practices and technical implementation techniques.
  • Work alongside client teams, guiding them towards accessible methods of work, and helping Publicis Sapient expand and refine external accessibility service offerings.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • ***Application open to ONLY U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents***
  • ***ONLY prefer residents of DC, MD, and VA***
  • ***Must be eligible to obtain U.S. Government Clearance (Public Trust)***
  • 10+ yrs of practical web accessibility experience.
  • 12+ yrs of exp in at least three disciplines, such as front-end development, experience design, or in a diversity and inclusion-related role.
  • Deep knowledge of accessibility standards, trends, best practices, and requirements.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of and exp using various assistive technologies. Reliance on assistive technologies for daily work is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, computer science, computer engineering, human factors or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • A passion for and deep understanding of inclusive design.
  • Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
  • Intermediate or higher programming skills, with the ability to explain desired technology outcomes to development teams.
  • Successful manager with exp in helping to grow and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Understanding of existing, new, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven ability to provide accessibility solutions for designers, developers, and testers.
