Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Maintenance Millwright to join our existing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of plant mechanical equipment for aggregate, ready-mix concrete and hot mix asphalt plants in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for own personal safety and aid in the safety of team members.  Must be equipped with PPE on site.
• Follow LOTOTO principles and procedures.
• Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and repair work to be done.
• Inspect mechanical equipment for defects and improper operations such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, production of defective material, etc.
• Determine the best way to make repairs to minimize divergence from quality and production standards.
• Understand and adhere to the need for quick turnaround to prevent loss of production.
• Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize detrimental effects on quality, productivity, and machinery.
• Make corrections and repairs necessary to follow OSHA & MSHA requirements.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings, shafts, etc. involving the application of press, and sliding fits.
• Able to assist in field fabrication and erect steel structures, i.e. catwalk, stairs, railings etc.
• Familiar with lifting and rigging procedures and safety protocols.
• Can work in and operate lifts and telehandlers.
• Perform oxy-acetylene cutting on steel plate in bins, chutes, mechanical equipment and on the ground for re-fabrication installs.
• Able and highly skilled in stick welding on various conditions of steel.
• Interprets prints and plans; develops sketches, diagrams, and prints.
• Test, operate, and repair equipment as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work area and service vehicle.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting.  Promoting a positive work culture.
• Attend meetings as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

 Requirements

• Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Current driver’s license.
• Able to work at various locations (Local to Harrisburg, PA and surrounding areas)

 

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5 years previous experience as a maintenance millwright or related position.
• Experience with stick welding.
• Fabrication and rigging experience.
