Profile

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Psychology, is seeking an outstanding clinical or counseling psychologist for a position in our Multispecialty Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic (MSOPC). The position is primarily clinical. We are looking for a  team-orientated psychologist who has an interest in honing their skills as a psychotherapist and developing a practice catered to specialty populations and diagnoses. You will join a diverse multidisciplinary therapy team that consists of psychologists, counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists who work collaboratively with psychiatrists and advanced practice providers (APPs) toward meeting the diverse mental health needs of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Qualifications

Our Subspecialty Clinic

The Multispecialty Outpatient Clinic (MSOPC) houses several specialty teams servicing various diagnoses and clinical needs. These include teams focused on Addiction and Substance Abuse, Sleep Hygiene, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorders, Women’s Health, Eating Disorders, Geriatrics, Emerging and Young Adults, Early Onset Psychosis Treatment, Functional Neurological Disorders, Medical Complexity and Pain Psychology. In addition to searching for individuals to join these established teams, we are also looking for clinicians with interest in Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Disorders, Eating Disorders, Adult Autism Spectrum Disorder and Neurodivergence, and those interested in working with diverse specialty populations. There will also be opportunities to develop group therapy programs around these different specialty populations.

As the clinic is housed in an academic medical center, we support individuals in their professional development. In order to maintain clinician wellness, we encourage psychologists to be members of multiple subspeciality teams as this allows for diversity of caseload and the development of new clinical skills.

Teaching

UT Southwestern has an APA Accredited Doctoral Program in Clinician Psychology as well as an APA Accredited Internship that provides opportunities for teaching. There are also opportunities for supervision of psychology interns/practicum students, psychiatry residents, and social work fellows.
