JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Home Health is an experienced professional responsible for the planning, organization, and directing of the operations and clinical practice of the Home Health Care Department. The Director communicates the mission, vision, and commitment statements of the organization to the staff. The Director provides support and encourages staff to act with authority and responsibility for the organization. The Director advocates continuous improvement in staff performances, assumes fiscal responsibility for all budgets, and serves as a liaison with the health system, medical community and with community leaders to promote appropriate utilization of the departments’ services. The Director functions within the established organizational structure and through effective collaborative relationships.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree preferred in Nursing, Business Administration or health-related field.
Licensure: Current RN license (if applicable) from the State of Georgia or current temporary permit, applicable to Nurse.
Experience: Minimum of four years of progressive management and professional experience in a health care setting to include budgeting and profit and loss statement management.
Skills: Position requires management and ability to supervise various professional personnel that function in the department. Professional competence and knowledge is required to evaluate cost effective, compassionate, customer focused patient care. Requires the ability to identify issues, make sound judgments and decisions, tackle complex assignments, demonstrate leadership, show initiative and risk taking, planning and resource management, interpersonal skills, communication skills, adaptability and staff development. Requires knowledge of the accreditation process to maintain certifications to comply with CMS and Joint Commission standards and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care. Working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public are essential. Expertise in marketing and promotion of community services is additional skill.
