Overview

We’re looking for a talented Principal Consultant who specializes in Tableau to help our customers gain tangible value from their data. Our consulting services emphasize analytics enablement, data visualization, data preparation, and data science. We specialize in Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Omni, Alteryx, KNIME, Power Platform, and Snowflake.

Responsibilities

Deliver on project-based consulting engagements and help clients develop analytical requirements through prototyping and visualization.
Manage client expectations by leading weekly status reports, facilitating working sessions, and proactively soliciting feedback to keep engagements aligned and moving forward.
Create, publish, and optimize Tableau reports, dashboards, and workbooks; diagnose visual and data issues; and recommend improvements to datasets, extracts, and visuals to improve usability and performance.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and tune product performance or deployment issues when required, and implement durable fixes when problems arise.
Support backlog management and development activities across client engagements.
Identify and recommend functionality and solutions to meet and enhance user requirements.
Recommend best practices to optimize data models, dashboards, platform architecture, and Tableau environment performance.
Own the development of the technical project approach, help manage the backlog or project plan, and execute on a focused set of high-value tasks within team engagements.
Own the long-term vision around analytics strategy and tool selection, provide escalation support, and contribute to phData’s broader analytics community through mentorship and thought partnership.
Mentor junior consultants and help raise the bar on performance, utilization, and project delivery across the team.

Required Experience

7+ years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated expertise in data analytics and data visualization platforms in an enterprise environment.
3+ years of external consulting experience.
Expertise in Tableau development, data visualization, and data modeling in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated expertise in data fluency and communicating effectively with business users and technical stakeholders.
