Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Trades Tech III - General Maintenance candidate who will provide maintenance services including installation, repair and preventive maintenance, on the buildings, equipment, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and utility systems, grounds and snow removal, for Western State Hospital (WSH) and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA). This position will be responsible for requisition material and equipment in accordance with the facilities policies and procedures; purchasing parts or tools as needed to maintain TMS inventory; Issue parts or tools and maintain accurate TMS inventory; performing preventive maintenance (PM) on buildings and equipment in accordance with the work order control system – TMS; and recognizing and report corrective maintenance (CM) to the work order control center and to perform corrective maintenance in accordance with the work order control system – TMS.
This position will also be responsible for recognizing and reporting safety deficiencies and perform corrective measures as required, and to document the work in accordance with the work order control system – TMS; performing tasks involving office moves, painting, hanging pictures, bulletin boards, white boards, mirrors & glass, wall repair and finishing, flooring and ceiling, assist with overall general day to day maintenance of facility; assisting contractor or inspectors in performing equipment installations, repairs or inspections; and operating shop equipment in a safe manner and to report unsafe condition to the work order control center – TMS.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- extensive building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC experience or vocational training
- Valid Virginia Driver's license
Additional Considerations

- experience with inventory control
- experience with TMS maintenance software
- Licensed Electricians, Plumbers or Maintenance Mechanic card desirable
