Senior Django Software Engineer - Fully Remote

Responsibilities:Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web applications using the Django framework. Ensure code quality and application performance through best practices and coding standards.Project Leadership: Lead development projects from conception to deployment, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating tasks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.Code Review and Mentorship: Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices. Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on technical challenges and career development.Technical Architecture: Design and implement application architecture and database schemas. Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of the applications.Testing and Debugging: Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability. Debug and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Continuously seek opportunities to improve development processes and application performance.Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and APIs. Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to the development team.Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features and enhancements. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.DevOps and Deployment: Assist with deployment and maintenance of applications in production environments. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.Security and Compliance: Ensure applications adhere to security best practices and regulatory requirements. Address security vulnerabilities and implement necessary safeguards.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on web applications using Django.Proficiency in Python and the Django framework.Strong knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Vue.js).Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM technologies.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.Experience with RESTful API design and development.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
