Food - Research and Development Intern

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills and expertise toward achieving organizational goals. Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester, and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need. Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco, Texas. The Magnolia Journal Magazine Intern reports to the Editorial Production Director and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Please note: The Spring Internship will run from February 02, 2025 – April 17, 2025. Interns should plan to be in Waco, Texas for the duration of the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Complete art production tasks such as keeping magazine printout wall current, printing and trimming layouts for review, and setting up templated design documents as applicable   
• Assist in photoshoot production and the execution of tasks such as calling in samples, updating shot lists and call sheets, and assisting at photoshoots as needed 
• Prepare copy documents, issue summaries, and sourcebook content for upcoming issues 
• Upkeep Magnolia Journal digital archive 
• Assist in writing and editing assigned stories as applicable  
• Complete projects or tasks as instructed by internship supervisor  
• Participate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semester  
• Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to determine the priority and process of assignments  
• Ensure that projects are on track for correct execution within required deadlines  
• Hold all sensitive information with the strictest confidence  
• Communicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive goal is achievable    
• Perform other duties as assigned
