We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Lead for Gateway Project GRAIL to join the team with Bastion, a teammate company.

The Systems Engineering Lead for Gateway Project GRAIL will:

  • Serve as the Systems Engineering Lead for the Gateway Program GRAIL Laboratory in the Avionic System Division at NASA Johnson Space Center working with NASA's Commercial Partnerships for the next generation space station
  • Perform Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) activities including requirements, interfaces, verifications, and integrated performance throughout project lifecycle across internal and external organizations
  • Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents
  • Develop and support project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering
  • Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification and validation activities
  • Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications
  • Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process
  • Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation
  • Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements
  • Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
  • Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance
  • Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware
  • Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses
  • Work and present schedule and progress to customers
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
