This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rosamund Stone Zander Translational Neuroscience Center (TNC) at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Research Assistant I to assist in conducting cutting-edge clinical research to improve diagnostic approaches, treatment, and outcomes for children with a range of neurodevelopmental and neuromuscular disorders. This role will work on projects, including clinical trials, longitudinal phenotyping studies in young children, remote and in-person assessments, and biomarker studies.
This Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of innovative clinical and research database.• Assisting the Principal Investigator and senior team leaders in the development, implementation, and coordination of research projects.
- Developing recruitment strategies, enrolling research participants in studies, and facilitating sample collection and distribution.
- Assisting with remote and in-person recruitment and study visits, which may include electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings, behavioral testing, treatment trials, and other measures.
- Collecting and recording study data from participant interviews and medical records, and assisting with the development and maintenance of study files and databases.
- Coordinating and actively participating in team meetings and coordinator conference calls.
- Participating in activities to ensure ongoing institutional and regulatory approval of studies including IRB submissions.
- Providing assistance to PI and project managers with compilation of study progress reports and publications.
- Coordinating between internal and external collaborators.
- A BA/BS degree in health, psychology or related field, with a preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant setting.
- Experience serving as a clinical research coordinator is desired.
- Knowledge of clinical research processes and best practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities, with good attention to detail.
- The ability to take initiative and work with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
