The Branch HRBP II position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated campus units. The Branch HRBP II formulates partnerships across the University and provides strategic support to the employees and leadership within the campus unit. This position provides leadership and supervision to the respective HRBP I and/or Junior HRBP roles.
Acts as key point of contact for all HR-related processes, issues, and/or questions for the branch campus unit(s).
Manages central human resource functions for the branch campus in coordination with HR areas of expertise, as appropriate.
Provides consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources-related matters, ensuring alignment with university policies, goals, and objectives.
Develops a thorough knowledge and understanding of the assigned units to understand their culture, needs, skills, and development opportunities.
Implements organizational development, workforce or succession planning, training, or
performance management strategies developed by the University and in partnership with Learning and Talent Development.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies; reviews exit interview data to share feedback with leadership and recommend solutions.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation; develop internal policies and procedures.
Handles moderately complex employee relations issues in partnership with Employee Relations and refers to more complex issues to higher-level staff; supports employee relations, ethics, or compliance investigations.
Partner with Classification and Compensation to administer salary reviews and analysis and advises leadership accordingly.
Manages performance management processes for all assigned employees; advises leadership and employees on the process and makes recommendations.
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to the respective branch campus unit(s) as it relates to Human Resources matters.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two to four years of experience in
Human Resources or a combination of education and experience.

conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an
alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration
required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the
advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
