Position Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to ensure the best quality product is produced. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Program the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to effectively measure different products.
  • First Article Inspection reporting to ensure the product passes certification test or process inspection.
  • Prepare reports to describe studies and prepare documents and layouts.
  • Keep the equipment and the work station clean at all times for most accurate results.
  • Perform project work, while adhering to deadlines, as required.
  • Establish correct inspection criteria following best practices.
  • Creates and uses equipment set-ups, such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, indicators, comparator, when CMM isn’t the best solution for the project needs.
  • Responsible for calibrating all tools in the location multiple times a year.  
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships for site tool calibrations. 

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with minimal supervision.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Associates or technical degree is a plus 

Experience: 

4+ years of CMM programming and operating experience required

Zeiss system, preferred

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing Environment

Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
