QualificationsAlamo Group Inc. is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Financial Business Analyst.
Under direction, the Financial Business Analyst assists in supporting and maintaining the Company’s financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, custom financial applications, data conversion, reporting and ERP implementations. The Financial Business Analyst develops and deploys information tools to drive continuous improvement within the accounting function of Alamo Group Inc. Liaise with other corporate departments and manufacturing facilities to facilitate the development of new reports, procedures and policies related to accounting operations. Performs financial reporting analysis and assists with financial month end, quarter, and annual close to provide accurate financial information for the Company.
The Financial Business Analyst will:
- Analyze Alamo Group financial and accounting functions, processes, and activities to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting ERP applications.
- Monitor, analyze and resolve ERP system error messages to ensure the integrity of financial reports and other reporting mechanisms.
- Consult with manufacturing facilities on areas of concern and/or areas targeted for change/improvement.
- Provide financial system training on new procedures and implementations.
- Assist with the conversion and implementation of new acquisitions onto the ERP system.
- Liaise with IT programmers, developers and other key business representatives on the testing and implementation of software enhancements and upgrades.
- Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts for multiple facilities.
- Assist with financial month, quarter, and year end close; includes developing and running reports and preparing/entering journal entries.
- Extract, apply and analyze information and data through available tools and integrated financial ERP systems (i.e., JD Edwards) for the department, and assist the manufacturing facility accounting representatives with the extraction and analysis of critical business/financial information.
- Stays abreast of IT and business/accounting intelligence tools available in the market and keeps management informed of their capabilities and functionality; recommends acquisition and/or implementation of tools that will assist in leveraging the corporate investment in JDE.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Knowledge of economic and general accounting principles and practices (GAAP, etc.)
- Knowledge of business, financial and accounting principles involved in examining, verifying, and analyzing financial reports, statements, and general ledger best practices.
- Knowledge of general laws, government regulations and agency rules that pertain to a publically traded manufacturing operation.
- Knowledge of business intelligence data mining tools and processes.
- Working knowledge of today’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial analysis software; previous experience with JD Edwards is preferred.
- Highly skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including complex financial spreadsheet analysis, Microsoft Excel Dashboards, Microsoft Word, and other mainstream office software. <
