The Assistant Project Manager will assist/support the Project Manager (PM) on project tasks as assigned, follow-up on deliverables, and review with the PM. Work assignments may include supporting multiple projects concurrently. While not otherwise involved in project-specific work, the APM I will support other project and proposal efforts, or may work with, or do rotations with the various operational support groups.

 

Location/Travel Requirements: Position will be based on-site at our project location in North Dakota.

What You'll Do

Job Summary: The Materials Coordinator will oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies needed for construction projects. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring materials are available when and where needed while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety and quality standards. 

  • Maintaining accurate records of material levels, tracking inventory, and reordering materials as needed. 
  • Placing orders with suppliers, coordinating deliveries, and managing any issues with material availability or delays. 
  • Ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations on-site, organized, and readily available for construction activities. 
  • Verifying the quality of received materials and reporting any discrepancies or non-conformances. 
  • Maintaining clear communication with vendors, construction teams, and other relevant departments regarding material status, delivery schedules, and potential issues. 
  • Ensuring materials are stored and handled safely, adhering to all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. 
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of material transactions, inventory levels, and other relevant information. 

Essential Skills:

  • Being able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain organized records.
  • Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including vendors, construction teams, and other departments.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to material availability, delivery delays, or quality problems.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Understanding different types of construction materials, their properties, and their uses.
  • Being able to lift and move materials as needed.
  • Ensuring accuracy in inventory records, material tracking, and other related tasks. 

What You'll Bring

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is often the minimum requirement. 
  • Experience on DB/EPC projects in the power delivery industry; ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in transmission, distribution, and substation work
  • Proficient in handling multiple projects and ensure law and requirements are being followed
  • Familiar with technology and proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and other software)
  • High sense of integrity – job requires being honest and ethical
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid, Active Driver's License
